## Language server

| Server | Install |
| - | - |
| [gopls](https://pkg.go.dev/golang.org/x/tools/gopls) | `go install golang.org/x/tools/gopls@latest` |

Coder checks `~/go/bin` (Go's `go install` default) beyond a plain `PATH` lookup, since a packaged GUI app on macOS is often launched with a minimal `PATH` that doesn't match your shell's, see [Language Intelligence → Where Coder looks](/lsp#where-coder-looks).

## Debugger

| Adapter | Install | Notes |
| - | - | - |
| [Delve](https://github.com/go-delve/delve) (`dlv dap`) | `go install github.com/go-delve/delve/cmd/dlv@latest` | Delve compiles your program itself as part of `launch`, no separate build step needed. |

See [Debugger](/debugger) for the debugger UI itself.

## Tested on

macOS (Apple Silicon). Windows and Linux paths aren't documented yet.
